The collaboration between Hermès and france-based artist duo Zim and Zou continues. For the new store, located at the Mall of the Emirates in Dubai, they have created Forst Folks an incredible installation made of paper: a dreamlike universe where small characters and some accessories of the French maison cohabit. Flora and fauna made of colorful paper are on display in two windows: a small village of mushroom in a window, blooming floras huts in the other.
In the recent past the artists have done up an eclectic window displays for Hermès in Shanghai with the use of leather quirky insects and birds. A cabinet of curiosities made of leather creatures: large birds and butterflies, fish, insects crafted from hundreds pieces of paper and leather. Sculptured critters like peacocks, owls, crabs and caterpillar that with their detailed cut feathers make you immerse in the atmosphere of a kind of Wunderkammer, a museum of hand-crafted creatures that required three months of work from a team of skilled artisans.
