The Corean designer Hyun-Gi Kim made this incredibile Red Series Chair where fake blood flows inside.
Hundreds of hoses make up this sitting and as in a real circulatory system the blood flows in them. Feeling sensitive to pressure when sitting, the blood begins to flow through the tubes and chair rises with the sound of liquid.
“That makes us to remind the muscles and breathing of heart, and giving audience to experience visual and auditory stimulation. When audience sit down, they can experience the blood circulate constantly.”
In this controversial piece of furniture, the artist wants to explore the concepts of vitality, circulation and the birth of life.
“There is metaphorical meaning in this work. There must be a lot of blood in order for this creature to live a life,” says Kim.
